Sunshine, water and … safety
Fulton Homes 2 Seconds Comes to Mesa Golfland Sunsplash.
Few places can be more fun for kids on a hot Sunday afternoon than a water park. But as we've seen too often this summer, the combination of kids and water makes it even more important for parents to watch those children closely.
Fulton Homes 2 Seconds is Too Long will be in place near the wave pool at Mesa Golfland Sunsplash this Sunday, July 15, along with KTAR, 98.7 The Peak and the American Red Cross to re-enforce that message.
Experts from the American Red Cross will be present to share water-safety information. The event, which runs from 2-4 p.m., will take place near the wave pool. Golfland Sunsplash is located just north of the Superstition Freeway at Country Club in Mesa.
"There are few things more important in Arizona than making sure everyone –especially children – stays safe around water," said Fulton Homes CEO Douglas Fulton. "The recent tragedies involving children should be a harsh reminder to everyone who loves children to be even more vigilant."
The annual Fulton Homes 2 Seconds Is Too Long Water Safety Campaign began in April and will continue throughout the summer. Fulton Homes, which has been building homes for Arizona families since 1975, also is sponsoring the Fulton Homes Fence Patrol again this summer. The Fence Patrol provides free pool fences to deserving families. Nine fences have been provided so far in 2012, with six more fences to be provided this summer to families that need them.
For more than 90 years, the American Red Cross has helped keep people safe in and around the water with their learn-to-swim, water safety and life guarding programs. Red Cross CPR classes teach people how to identify breathing and cardiac emergencies while developing the skills to handle them.
