Fulton Homes Announces Pups Nala and Willow
as June's 'Pick of the Litter' Winners

The Tempe-based homebuilder is partnered with 98KUPD
to help animals in shelters get adopted

Fulton Homes has joined forces with John Holmberg and 98 KUPD to help homeless dogs and cats to find their fur-ever homes. This June, two adorable doggos were adopted through the Pick of the Litter campaign, thanks to Lost Our Home animal shelter. Lost Our Home provides future pet parents, like Willow's and Nala's, with support throughout the adoption process, so that the lovable furry friends can have a better transition to their new families.

Animal-lover and CEO of Fulton Homes, Doug Fulton hopes that this program will raise awareness of the severe overflow issue plaguing shelters, especially those in Arizona. "When I heard that animal shelters are taking in up to 100 pets per day during the summer months, I thought we could really make an impact with a public awareness campaign and that's how Pick of the Litter was born," says Fulton.

The valley-homebuilder and the radio station decided to partner in combatting this concern that is magnified in Arizona; in fact, Arizona's largest shelter takes in almost 17,000 animals every year. Within the United States, Maricopa County ranks second in the nation for highest number of strays, which goes to show why Fulton Homes decided to take action in creating the Pick of the Litter campaign.

From April 29th until December 29th, John Holmberg builds anticipation and awareness for the program by teasing the week's pick on Monday through Thursday, with a reveal of the winning pet on Fridays. Valley veterinarians offer their help as well, providing free microchips and immunizations to pets adopted by 98 KUPD listeners, ensuring the animals have a happy and healthy transition into their new home.

John Holmberg, the radio host and owner of 6 dogs, explains the impact that this promotion is going to have. "What I have found that really sticks with me is that we really connect to other people through dogs. They really need someone to love and care for them," said Holmberg. "The best part is seeing the dogs that were adopted still thriving with their pet parents years later. It's like you get to see them grow up," continued Holmberg.
