Fulton Homes Hits it Out of the Park for Charity
Arizona's Most Recognized Homebuilder Donates $150 to Charity for Every D-Backs Dinger Launched Over the Wall.
The fresh cut grass, the stadium completely full and The D-Backs tied for first place. There is nothing quite like opening day in baseball: where every team has the same opportunity to take over the division and aim for a big playoff run in October. This year, the D-Backs have a new look team that hopes to take the National League West by storm and rise from the cellar for the first time since 2008. The youth of the team will show their true colors as the season's stories unravel. One thing that has remained steady for this team is the Fulton Homes Home Run Program. With every home run hit by the D-backs, Fulton Homes will donate $150 to the Central Arizona Mountain Rescue Association (CAMRA).
Win or Lose, Fulton Homes has donated $150 to a charity for each home run hit in the previous five seasons. With the money going to charity after every home run there is all the more reason to cheer for the long shots. Last year the program donated nearly $30,000 to charities around the valley. This year for every home run hit on Fox Sports Arizona $150 will be given to the Central Arizona Mountain Rescue Association. Last season the D-Backs were fourth in the league with 180 dingers. D-Backs fans hope the trend continues this year with sluggers Justin Upton and Chris Young both coming off strong campaigns in the 2010 season. The more homeruns, the more Fulton Home donates to CAMRA. The homer friendly Chase Field will surely help produce even more home runs in the sixth season of Fulton Homes Home Run Program.
Also known as the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office Mountain Rescue team, CAMRA has a rich history of saving lives since its establishment in 1969, and is trained technically to perform search and rescue missions in the backcountry of Arizona. The non profit organization is comprised of unpaid professionals who are all accredited members of the Mountain Rescue Association and the National Association for Search and Rescue. Members of CAMRA are not only dedicated to saving lives through search and rescue operations, but through wilderness emergency medical services and outdoor safety education as well.
"Our community is the foundation of Fulton Homes and we are committed to sharing our time, talent and treasure to make the Valley of the Sun a better place to live and work," noted Fulton Homes CEO Douglas Fulton. "We are proud of our home team and now have all the more reason to root for the big home runs from the D-Backs."
CAMRA is just one of the many charitable causes that Fulton Homes is involved with. Fulton Homes is a Tempe-based homebuilder that has built a legacy upon community activism. Fulton Homes generously contributes to Arizona communities, schools, and children.
Fulton Homes was founded in 1975 and grew to be one of the top homebuilders and family owned businesses in Arizona. During the past several years, in the face of one of the worst housing markets in US history, Fulton Homes soldiered on in a market devastated by foreclosures and short sales. Fulton Homes was the first homebuilder to highlight the downside of foreclosures in an informational advertising campaign. The online tool ForeclosureCostCalculator.com can be customized to fit the parameters of any foreclosed property, and analyze such factors as exterior paint, cabinets, and termites.
